This is my independent photography project, I called it "Life Imitates Life". I chose this name because I thought it was a fun little play on "Life Imitates Art", because I thought that nature can copy itself sometimes with it's colors. I wanted to take pictures different colored eyes and compare them to pictures I took of mother nature and see how similar they are. I've had this idea for awhile, it was just written down on my phone and I was waiting for an opportunity to use it so I decided this project would be perfect for it. This project was supposed to be a project where all students could choose a project for themselves and do what ever they wanted, the prompt was to create a captivating photography project using our cameras. I think I did a good job and I really liked the way the pictures turned out.
For this project we were supposed to utilize dark atmospheres. For my pictures I used the "dark room" at our school to create these pictures. We used these glowing balls and also glow sticks.
Basic Composition Rules
This project was meant to help us develop our basics. The objective for this project was to "Create a series or "stand alones" showing your understanding of these basic composition "rules". We were supposed to have 10 images for each rule and each of the rules were the: Rules of Thirds, Diagonals, Balance: Symmetry versus Asymmetry, and Golden Section. These were the pictures I took for this project.
The prompt for this project was for us to "design and create a series of underwater photos". We were supposed to have 20-30 images with 2-3 outstanding examples. We were only supposed to do 3 out of the 4 project but I did all four. I thought the pictures I took turned out better then they did but I liked a few of them. I used a vase filled with water for some of them and then I added food coloring to the vase for some of them. A few of them were pictures of plants with water I poured on them and then an empty vase with the water dripping out of it. The bottom three were my favorite and the rest are below.
